ARLENZAUBERWEG TRAIL – THE TREASURES OF NATURE UNDER THE MAGNIFYING GLASS.

From carnivorous plants to true mountain survivors to perfectly organised colonies!

The Arlenzauberweg trail leads from the Bergbahn Lech-Oberlech cable car mountain station via the Libellensee lake past beautiful flower meadows on the Schlegelkopf to the Rud-Alpe (or vice versa), with numerous treasures to enchant visitors interested in nature.

The special features of animals and plants are presented at more than 20 stations along the fabulous hiking trail. What are the remarkable achievements of an ant colony? Why is the yellow gentian sometimes rather bitter? How come we can draw great benefits from one plant but not another? And who on earth is this Arle that gave the Arlberg its name? In an informative and entertaining way, the small and often hidden treasures along the Arlenzauberweg trail are put under the magnifying glass.

The figure of “Mathiesle”, based on Albert Mathies, the Arlberg original who had his second home on the Rud-Alpe in the last century, accompanies families and hikers interested in nature through the realm of the Arles.

On the Rud-Alpe’s large sun terrace you can enjoy Austrian and regional specialities in beautiful surroundings and admire the wonderful views of the Lech mountains. After the hike, the children can enjoy plenty of action at the large water playground and tree house, as well as a petting zoo with white giant hares, miniature goats and mini pigs.

Length & difficulty: approx. 2-kilometre long hiking trail; from the Bergbahn Lech-Oberlech cable car mountain station, it’s a gentle downhill walk to the Rud-Alpe.

GRÜNER RÄTSEL-RING

Puzzle fun on the way to Rud Alpe – the Grüner Rätsel-Ring! An entertaining trail with all sorts of puzzles and play stations to keep the whole family happy. At the end of the trail there are plenty of rewards to enjoy: water playground, petting zoo, wonderful terrace and, last but not least, delicious food. The puzzle book gives puzzle fans of all ages a nut to crack. All the exertions of getting here are quickly forgotten and the next challenge is already waiting. To avoid any possible disappointment for your children, please pick up the “Impossible Workbook” for 5 EUR at Lech-Zürs Tourismus or at the Rud-Alpe – because, without the book, the secrets of the Puzzle Ring will remain concealed.

3D ARCHERY COURSE

At the 3D archery course, between Oberlech and the destination at the Rud-Alpe, there are more than 15 targets to take aim at. In 3D archery, the targets are not the usual bosses but three-dimensional animal dummies that need to be “dispatched”. Every Wednesday the Arlberg Alpine Outdoor Center offers a guided Bow and Arrow tour through the course. Equipment hire also possible. More at www.arlbergalpin.at.

BURGWALD TRAIL – FREERIDE AND ENDURO COURSE
